Chris Brown spoke on the highly publicized incident with then-girlfriend Rihanna earlier this year, via an interview with Larry King. Now, it’s RiRi’s turn.
The singer is set to speak about the February assault for the first time on Friday (November 6) in an interview wih “Good Morning America”, and then later that night on “20/20.”
While details regarding the interview were unknown, a promo commercial — promoting the appearance — says she will be telling “her story” for the “very first time.”
Since the February incident in Los Angeles, where singer Chris Brown allegedly assaulted Rihanna, she’s remained quiet regarding details. However, Brown has been a little more forthcoming, saying in interviews that he’s learned from his mistakes, and even issued a public apology.
“I’ve told Rihanna countless times and I’m telling you today, I’m truly, truly sorry that I wasn’t able to handle the situation both differently and better,” Brown said in July.
The ABC special comes on the heels of the release of Rihanna’s brand new single, “Russian Roulette,” from her upcoming new album Rated R.
It’s her first album since she broke out in 2007 with Good Girl Gone Bad, which boasts the smash single “Umbrella”. The album’s re-release, titled Reloaded, included the single “Disturbia”.
Rated R is slated to drop November 23rd.
