The name Romero Bryan may be new to the ears of some but those that are involved in the world of fashion have heard this name over and over, more so if you in the European fashion circle. Romero Bryan has been a designer and stylist to international celebrities for several years; he has worked with names such as Pussy Cat Dolls, Alicia Keys, Brandy, Cameron Diaz, Nelly Furtado, Mariah Carey and others with international friends like Naomi Campbell and Hilary Alexander being spotted all over the world in his designs.
Romero Bryan, has been designing since he was just 12 years old. His grandfather a tailor, grandmother a seamstress & mother a Fashion buyer, he knew from a very young age, he wanted to be involved in fashion. Romero’s design skills & determination have been recognized by the Royal Bank of Scotland, in a prediction of ‘The Rich List 2020’ (Sep 03), which appeared in many publications including The Daily Telegraph, Observer and The Sunday Times, as well as television & radio that he had appeared on, such as ITV news, GMTV & Sky news.
He was also recognized by the Carlton Multi-Cultural Achievement Awards & nominated in the Arts and Design category in 2002.
Lets fast track to 2011 and we have the same enthused designer eager to create something new each season. With his client list growing and numerous international fashion shows being done Romero Bryan is indeed a name being stamped in international fashion. The designer recently in the island of Jamaica for his regular visit to family shot his latest collection for Spring/Summer 2011 (SS’11) on the sands of Port Royal, with local photographer Ryan Lue Clarke , makeup Artiste Loni Jones and hairstylist and models Sophronia Mckenzie and ‘James Black’. A shoot organized and coordinated by Kemar Daswell of Fashion Globe a member of his parent brand D’Events. Romero was elated at the fast response by the members of the local fashion circle and more excited working with a few of the top names in Jamaican fashion.
The shoot was also the debut for local model Sophornia McKenzie who is unsigned and currently under the portfolio of D’Events as their first model. The shoot also showed a different side to James Black designer of local brand Yardie Conscious.
Romero Bryan was quoted as saying “I am extremely happy with the shoot, can’t wait to see the final pictures”
