Silkk the Shocker: C-Murder Is Fighting Against a Corrupt System

On August 14, 2009, rapper C-Murder was sentenced to life without parole for the fatal shooting of 16-year-old Steve Thomas. Being a part of such a celebrated family, his feud with his brother, Master P, was brought to the forefront, but their other sibling, rapper Silkk the Shocker, simply wishes they could “talk it out and keep the media out of it.

According to Silk, C-Murder is “really innocent.” “They’re like, ‘oh that’s your brother, you’re gonna say that,’ but I wouldn’t say that,” he told DJ Vlad. “I think if you do a crime you gotta do the time. But the part that hurts us the most is he’s fighting against a whole system…If you really check the case out, it’s clearly no way in the world he did it.

Delving deeper into C-Murder’s case, Silkk the Shocker undoubtedly stated “they all know it’s not true – they already know the person who did it. They gotta sworn affidavit from the person who did it.” In the end, he understands his brother is being held behind bars because of a corrupt justice system, but feels his case will ultimately set standards for similar ones in the future if he’s ever released.

Hear about the unrelated shooting case C-Murder was given ten years for and more about their family tribulations in this in-depth exclusive.
