Sophia Brown Tops 5000 in Digital Sales

Having released her debut album “The Spotlight” in April, reggae songstress Sophia Brown is this week announcing that based on tracking statements from several online distributors her album has sold 6,500 copies digitally to date.

According to Brown this marks her very first milestone as a new artist.

“It really feels great to know that people are buying the album, the sales figures speaks volumes about the work i’ve put in knowing that I dont have a major deal with any record company i’m basically independent so that is wonderful”.

Coming off a 5 week promotional tour of the U.S and Canada Brown recently returned to Jamaica to find her current single “Weak Tou You” still holding firm on several local charts.

” I just last week came back in the island to find that my single is #4 on the FIWI Choice Top 20 Charts and #15 on the Jamaica Music Countdown List. I was away doing some promo for the album in places like Farmington Hill Michigan, Redding in Boston, a few places in Connecticut, Washington and Canada”.

While Brown’s trip was geared mainly towards pushing her album she incidental secured an endorsement deal with a New York based Clothing Line by the name Mizchif who also provides clothing for dancehall artists like Kiprich, Elephant Man, Da’ville and Wayne Marshall.

A philanthropist in her own right Brown has plans to also assist where possible to lest fortunate individuals.

“I am a caring person who is always looking to help out so I have some clothing that I will be handing over to the Ronnie Thwaites Foundation who is currently providing assistance to fire victims. Big up Music Mecka, Icey Jace, Cell Block Music Group and everyone who is apart of my team”.
