Spice and Mya Team Up For International Hit

Dancehall artiste Spice, has her eyes set on the international stage again, this time with the release of the single Take Him Out alongside international R&B singer, Mya.

The song, which was the debut track on Mya’s recently released album, K.I.S.S., has already been gaining traction overseas. Mya, known for The Best Of Me feat. Jadakiss, My Love Is Like…WoLady MarmaladeGirls Dem Sugar with Beenie Man explained how the hot new collaboration came about,

“I teamed up with the hottest female dancehall DJ in Jamaica, Spice, over a Caribbean inspired track. We debuted the song at Sumfest 2011 on Dancehall Night. [The] producer Junior Sanchez & I created the blueprint of the track after I came back from Trinidad Carnival 2010. The concept is simply about taking out the trash when your world becomes a world of clutter. In this case it’s specifically about a man.”

Spice who last year unleashed the energetic summer single, Fun, featuring Hip Hop legend, Missy Elliott says she is excited about the single and unveiling the upcoming video. “Working with Mya has been a great experience; she is a phenomenal artiste and also a great person so I’m definitely honoured to be a part of the project. The new single Take Him Out has a great upbeat vibe and is all about female empowerment and just puts a whole new spin on relationships and moving on when it isn’t working out. Although it’s a new song, people are already really gravitating to it and are going to be heavily promoting it both locally and overseas, so everyone, just watch out.”

Spice, known for Slim vs. FluffyRamping ShopHot Patty Wine, Fight Over Man and others, also says the video which was filmed in Jamaica by Ras Kassa will be released in the States within the next few weeks and will be followed by a local release. “We tried to make the video really colourful and fun, so I hope our fans really enjoy it once it’s released.”
