T.I. Ordered To Pay More Child Support

Atlanta rapper T.I. has been ordered to increase monthly child support payments to the mother of two of his children, LaShon Dixon.

According to the Associated Press, Superior Court Judge Bensonetta Tipton Lane said the self-proclaimed “King of the South” must pay Dixon a little over $3,000 a month instead of the $2,000 he was previously providing.

Dixon recently filed the lawsuit against Tip hoping a court would order a stipend equal to the rapper’s success.

As part of the judge’s orders, T.I. must continue to fund the private school expenses, medical insurance and extracurricular activities of the boys, ages 7 and 8. Though Dixon was granted primary custody, T.I. will share joint custody of his sons.

Dixon’s attorney, Randy Kessler said that while his client is grateful to receive more child support she is still unsatisfied with the new amount.

“Every little bit helps,” Kessler told the AP. “She was just getting by with the children, while they lived a different life with their father. It can’t be complete opposites on the other side.”

As SOHH previously reported, T.I. took to his site Streetcred.com to explain how much he funds for his children in addition to the monthly child support payments. Tip claimed that Dixon tries to live solely off of that money by choosing not to work and that this is ultimately the cause for any financial woes she may be experiencing.
