Tomorrow night live music fans will get a rare treat at Christopher’s Jazz Café in New Kingston, when Tanya Stephens will make one of her infrequent musical appearances. As part of its live music feature on Tuesday and Thursday nights, Christopher’s and Mo’ MuZyk Pros, will present Bacardi and Tanya Stephens’ Infallible.
“This Thursday will be my first performance for 2010. I will have a full band in a place where I can present a good showcase of music,” Stephens said. Stephens will present five tracks off her new album Infallible, as well as favourites from the older offerings in a planned hour-long set on the ground floor of the Quad Night Club.
“Christopher’s has always supported live music from inception. I go there regularly to enjoy the vibe and even do an impromptu performance. So, we have to endorse Christopher’s right now, it’s my performance home,” said Stephens, who has a sponsorship deal with Bacardi.
Mo’ Muzyk Pros and Christopher’s Jazz Café have presented musicians such as Robin Banks, Benji Myers, Mario Evon, Ice Man, Dwight Richards, Mary Isaacs, Limey Murray and Stevie Face. The association has also showcased the talents of Dwight Pinkney, Myrna Hague-Bradshaw, Tony Greene, Dennis Rushton, and Harold Davis.
“We have been producing shows at Christopher’s consistently since January 2009, every Tuesday to Thursday,” said Ozou’ Ne, the producer and musical director of Mo’ Muzyk Pros.
“We are presenting a live show and we aim to ensure that it is of the highest possible standard. Having a number of years of experience in the field, we step it up. The programme has built a repertoire for clean wholesome music of all genres, ensuring excellent musical styling and visual presentation in a relaxed laid back ambiance that is standard at Christopher’s Jazz Café.”
The night of music starts at 7:30 pm.
