It has been a rough 12 months for Teflon whose travel was restricted because of a court case. However, he has been absolved of those charges and the ‘firebrand’ singer is now on his first European tour.
He left Jamaica last Wednesday morning to join Sizzla for seven weeks in Europe. Some of the countries in which they will be performing are Holland, Sweden, Belgium, France, Spain, Italy, Slovenia and Germany. After wrapping up the tour at the end of November, Teflon will leave for a two-week stint in Africa.
He was recently freed of gun charges stemming from police raiding his St Mary property in August and allegedly finding an illegal firearm. Charges against the entertainer were dropped after the judge ruled that the police officers were inconsistent with their statements. Teflon did not let his case deter his recording. He released songs such as Jailhouse Rock and No Rapist, which were in heavy rotation on local radio.

In February, Teflon released his debut album Motherless Child on TAD’S International label, the album peaked at number 34 on iTunes 100 best-selling reggae albums. He also teamed up with dancehall producer Stephen ‘Di Genius’ McGregor to release a number of singles including Jah Has Been There, which was in rotation on BBC 1Xtra.
Teflon will return to Jamaica to do a number of shows during the Christmas season. He will also be in the studio working on his sophomore album with extensive production from legendary producer Fattis Burrell. Jah Answer Prayers is the first single that will be released from the album.
