While Bow Wow once called politics something only “old folks” were interested in, it seems that the 21-year-old rapper has finally warmed up to the idea that caring about what happens in the country is something of importance.

According to the Associated Press, young Bow Wow has kicked off a 15-city tour urging people to register for the November 4th general election. On Wednesday (October 1), he and about 50 followers spent most of the day walking more than two miles from downtown Atlanta to nearby colleges for the cause.

“I used to think going to the mall and hollering at girls (was) more important,” Bow said, reports the AP. “But in reality, we are in a different time now. My focus now is to take it a step further to make a change and vote.”

Bow Wow had a change of heart about his outlook on the elections after seeing the financial struggles of his family and friends. However, he’s not publicly endorsed any particular candidate.

On his tour, the rapper will also stop in Philadelphia, New York, Washington, Baltimore, Boston, Nashville, Hartford, Alabama, Virginia, and Columbia, S.C.

Bow Wow isn’t the only one trying to encourage voter registration, others include Russell Simmons and Diddy, and Atlanta rappers Young Jeezy and T.I.
