Portmore Empire has a special love for Trinidadian women. After reporting exclusively some months ago Vybz Kartel’s Trinidadian love interest, the latest member of the empire to get hitched with a Trini is none other than Andrae “Popcaan” Sutherland.
19yr old Julianna James from Petit Valley, Trinidad, revealed that she has been in a relationship with Popcaan, Vybz Kartel’s protoje, for the past couple of months.
Julianna James was one of the 17 finalists for the 2011 Miss Trinidad and Tobago Universe competition.
The two exchanged Blackberry pins and were in contact for a while and eventually hooked upa few months ago when he visited Trinidad. Since then she has been a frequent visitor to Jamaica to spend time with her new boyfriend and his family.
She also confirmed the rumor that Popcaan’s song “Only Man She Want” is in fact about her.
However she insists that she had already broken off the relationship with her ex-boyfriendbefore Popcaan even visited T&T.
When asked to tell me something that only herself and persons close to Popcaan would know, Miss James informed me that his name is spelled “Andrae”, not “Andre”. He is family oriented, “cool and loving”.
He treats her great but can be arrogant at times if something upsets him. He takes his craft seriously and is in the studio every single night.
