Having taken a break from music last year to experience the joys of motherhood, delivering her first child in October, the songstress is back and ready for action. Taking a head-on approach to her career Raine is looking to retake her place in the music industry. Since June of this year she released three new tracks, all showing a different side to her multi-faceted personality.

In June the singer released “Tra La La” from female producer The Wizard. The song was done for the popular ’In the Dance’ show as Raine tries her hand at a techno-dancehall style. Since July the singer released two new tracks for Payday Music, ‘Showdown‘ and ‘Its Over‘ with Kym Hamilton. Surprising fans with her ‘Showdown’ single, Raine takes an aggressive approach to relationships showing her sexy side. ‘Showdown’ was written by deejay Red Rat, in it Raine deejays more than fans have seen of her thus far and to rave reviews.

Raine commented, “The response for ‘Showdown‘ has been great across the board, from fans and persons in the industry. When the song was released Bounty Killer and Wayne Marshall after hearing it commented how impressed they were and that I should keep it up. Bling Dawg requested a collaboration after hearing it, so its been good.”

Raine’s delivery of the song impressed the experienced Red Rat as well. He said, “I’m very impressed with the delivery and production of the song. Its one of the best deliveries I’ve heard from a female dancehall artiste in a long while.” Disc Jocks Razz and Biggy are also fans as Biggy commented, “its one of the best I’ve heard Raine Seville yet in ‘Showdown’, the style suits her.” Fame FM’s DJ Nicco added, “This song shows Raine Seville’s versatility and ability to attack every musical format she touches. Raine Seville represents for women in all aspects and in ‘Showdown’ she continues to show the world that she’s not slowing down.”

Kym Hamilton and Raine team up for ‘Its Over’, where the two discuss a relationship that has gone wrong. Having debuted in 2009 with a more island pop style in songs like ‘Drive Me Crazy’, ‘Belly Wine’, ‘Slippery When Wet’, Raine is showing that she can be just as versatile as the men in the industry. She said, “it has always been my aim to be diverse not limiting myself with my music. I wouldn’t do songs I thought were too far out and inappropriate and I think my new singles strike a good balance. ‘Showdown’ shows a more edgy style of me and shows off my confidence.”

Working in studio with various producers, Raine will also be busy on stage. The singer will be performing ‘Tra La La’ on In the Dance this month on TVJ. She will also be performing at Reggae Sumfest on International Night 1, Friday July 22 in Montego Bay. Listen out for more of Raine soon!
