Grammy award winning artists T.I. and Rihanna have been added to long list of performers at this years MTV Video Music Awards show.
The self-proclaimed Ã¢â‚¬Å“King of the SouthÃ¢â‚¬Â will be making his first appearance at a major awards ceremony since being arrested at last yearÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s BET Hip-Hop Awards in Atlanta where he was busted trying to illegally purchase several lethal weapons.
Rihanna will return to the stage after her success at last yearÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s VMAs where she performed Ã¢â‚¬Å“UmbrellaÃ¢â‚¬Â with boyfriend Chris Brown. This time around the R&B superstar is scheduled to perform her most recent single Ã¢â‚¬Å“Disturbia.Ã¢â‚¬Â
As previously reported, a strong line-up of R&B and Hip-Hop superstars including Weezy, who is also set to perform, Tip, Rihanna, Mariah Carey, Flo Rida, and others have been announced as nominees for various categories including Ã¢â‚¬Å“Best Male,Ã¢â‚¬Â Ã¢â‚¬Å“Best Pop VideoÃ¢â‚¬Â and Ã¢â‚¬Å“Best Hip-Hop VideoÃ¢â‚¬Â.
Additional nominees will be announced as two new categories are released each week until the end of this month.
In typical MTV tradition, winnersÃ¢â‚¬â„¢ of each chosen category will be awarded the iconic Moon Man trophy.
Hosted by British comedian Russell Brand, the MTV VMAÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s will air on Sunday, September 7 at 9 p.m. EST
