Vybz Kartel No Show at Court

Deejay Adidja ‘Vybz Kartel’ Palmer was a no-show at the Black River Resident Magistrate’s Court yesterday, where he should have appeared in a civil case brought against him by radio personality GT Taylor.

The deejay is being sued for breach of contract and the return of $150,000 which he was reportedly given as part payment for his appearance on a show put on by Taylor in St Elizabeth last December. The matter is set for mention on June 3.

When the matter was called up only Taylor and his attorney, Donald Gittens, were present for the case. Gittens, however, told the court that he was telephoned by Kartel’s attorney, Seymour Stewart, who told him that his client was putting the money together for repayment.

GT is suing Kartel for his non-appearance on the popular GT Taylor’s Christmas extravaganza show which was held on December 25 last year at Independence Park in Black River.
